Dr Adam Frankel is a General Surgeon with a clinical interest in upper gastrointestinal and complex abdominal surgery, including surgery for benign and malignant conditions of the oesophagus, stomach and upper gastrointestinal tract, adrenal conditions and melanoma.
He provides patient-centred care with a focus on safety, clinical outcomes and evidence-based practice. Dr Frankel completed a PhD in oesophageal cancer research and has contributed to international surgical research collaborations. In 2025, he received the “Best Research Pitch” award at the International Society for Diseases of the Esophagus (ISDE) World Congress.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Frankel is involved in surgical education, training and quality improvement initiatives within Queensland Health.
