Dr Mina Guirgis is a Perth-based General Surgeon with expertise across a broad range of surgical procedures, including upper gastrointestinal, bariatric, abdominal wall, gallbladder and hernia surgery. He provides comprehensive surgical care with a strong focus on minimally invasive techniques, helping patients achieve the best possible outcomes with reduced recovery times and improved comfort. Dedicated to building trusted relationships with both patients and referrers, Dr Guirgis combines clinical excellence with compassionate care, ensuring every patient receives ethical, high-quality surgical management. As a fluent Arabic speaker, he can provide culturally sensitive care and communicate effectively with a diverse patient population.

Ramsay Healthcare is fortunate to have Dr Guirgis located at our main hospitals in Perth. He is at Ramsay Private at Joondalup Health Campus for patients in the northern corridor and he also has admitting rights at Hollywood Private Hospital for patients central, south and east of the river. His consulting rooms are located in Joondalup, Murdoch and Subiaco.

 

Background and Training

Dr Guirgis has had extensive General and Upper GI Surgery training, having completed four advanced subspecialty fellowships across leading institutions in Australia and New Zealand. His training included Upper GI, Bariatric, Endoscopic and General Surgery under internationally recognised surgeons including Professor Michael Talbot and Drs Ken Loi, Saxon Connor and Ross Roberts. He is a graduate of AANZGOSA (Australasian Association for Gastrointestinal Surgery of the Oesophagus and Stomach), Australasia's premier gastro-oesophageal surgical training program, and holds a Masters in Minimally Invasive Surgery. Raised and trained in Western Australia, Dr Guirgis returned to Perth to provide world-class surgical care to our local community.
