Dr Roshan Ariyaratnam is a General Surgeon with a clinical interest in abdominal wall surgery and complex hernia surgery, as well as Surgical Robotics.
Dr Ariyaratnam was born and raised in the United Kingdom and completed his medical degree at Imperial College London Medical School in 2008.
Following graduation, he commenced his surgical career within the United Kingdom National Health Service (NHS), gaining experience at centres including St Mark’s Hospital, London, and Colchester General Hospital.
In 2011, Dr Ariyaratnam became a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He subsequently migrated to Australia to undertake advanced surgical training in General Surgery. He completed his specialist
training at Western Health and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2022. Dr Ariyaratnam’s practice focuses on the provision of general surgical care,
including a particular interest in the management of abdominal wall and complex hernia conditions, utilising minimally invasive surgical options where possible, for patients in Melbourne.
