About
Dr Stephen Begbie is a highly experienced Medical Oncologist and Physician based in Port Macquarie, NSW, with over 25 years of clinical practice. He is the Director of Medical Oncology at Port Macquarie Base Hospital and the Mid North Coast Cancer Institute, where he has been instrumental in developing and expanding regional cancer services.
Dr Begbie graduated with Honours from the University of Sydney and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). He has extensive experience across a wide range of cancers and has been actively involved in leading clinical trials, contributing to advancements in cancer treatment and care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Begbie is a Senior Conjoint Lecturer with UNSW and is deeply committed to education, training, and mentoring the next generation of medical professionals. He also plays an active role in healthcare leadership and governance, supporting innovation and improved outcomes for patients across regional communities.
