Dr Stephen Butler

Dr Stephen Butler is an orthopaedic surgeon who specialises in surgery of the hand and wrist for adults and children.

He is a consultant orthopaedic hand and wrist surgeon treating public patients at the Tweed Valley Hospital and Royal Brisbane Hospital. He works privately out of John Flynn private hospital and Pindara private hospitals.

Dr Stephen Butler completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the University of New South Wales with Honours, and went on to complete orthopaedic training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association surgical training program including the hand unit at Sydney Hospital. After completing his orthopaedic training and obtaining his Fellowship with the College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Orthopaedics he proceeded to complete his fellowships in hand and wrist surgery under the Australian Hand Surgery Society fellowship program (PFET). He undertook fellowship at the Victorian Hand Surgery Associates in Melbourne and the St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, as well as the Gold Coast Hospital and Queensland Children’s Hospital.
