About

Dr Stuart Cox completed his cardiology training in South-East Queensland in 2012 before undertaking a further 2 years of advanced subspecialty training in Interventional and Structural heart cardiology in Boston, USA. His international fellowship provided high-volume experience in complex coronary intervention, transcatheter valve therapies, and contemporary structural heart procedures, shaping a practice grounded in precision, safety, and evidence-based care.

Since 2017, Dr Cox has held a public appointment at Sunshine Coast University Hospital, contributing to tertiary cardiac care, structural heart services, and the supervision of junior doctors and cardiology trainees. During his time on the Sunshine Coast, he has been actively involved in the development of multiple clinical guidelines and participates in key hospital-based governance and quality-improvement activities.

Dr Cox has a strong interest in equitable healthcare, advocating for models of care that improve access, reduce variation, and support fair outcomes for all patients. His clinical approach centres on patient-centred, shared decision-making, ensuring individuals understand their options and participate meaningfully in their treatment choices. He maintains a clear focus on outcomes-based clinical care, integrating evidence, procedural expertise, and personalised risk assessment to achieve the best possible results for his patients.
